The opportunity

Total Delivery Pharma is growing, and we are looking for a commercially ambitious Business Development Manager to help us reach more organisations across the pharmaceutical and wider life-sciences sectors.

This is an opportunity to take real ownership of business development within a specialist consultancy. You will have an established CRM and leads to work from, alongside the freedom to develop new relationships, test new approaches and build a strong pipeline of your own.

We are not looking for someone who only books meetings and hands opportunities over. We want somebody who enjoys opening doors, understanding what matters to a prospective client and staying with the opportunity through discovery, proposal, negotiation and decision.

About TDP

TDP provides pharmaceutical quality, compliance and regulatory consultancy to clients in the UK and internationally. Our services include QP and RP support, GxP auditing, regulatory affairs, CMC and MS&T, batch review, compliance remediation, training, due diligence and outsourced quality and regulatory functions.

Our clients come to us when they need experienced, practical support with important and often time-sensitive challenges. You do not need to be a technical consultant, but you will need the curiosity and confidence to learn our services, ask strong questions and communicate their commercial value clearly.

What you will do

  • Use HubSpot to identify, prioritise and develop leads and target accounts.

  • Create new opportunities through thoughtful outreach, referrals, networking, partnerships, events and inbound enquiries.

  • Lead discovery conversations and understand the client's need, urgency, stakeholders, budget, decision process and timescale.

  • Build trusted relationships with senior decision-makers across pharmaceutical and life-sciences organisations.

  • Position TDP's services clearly and turn technical capability into relevant commercial value.

  • Qualify opportunities properly and focus time on work with a genuine route to decision.

  • Coordinate the input needed to develop clear, commercially sound proposals while retaining ownership of the client relationship.

  • Present proposals, manage follow-up, handle objections and negotiate within agreed authority.

  • Maintain a clean and accurate pipeline, with clear next steps and reliable forecasts.

  • Support a structured handover when work is won so the client experience remains strong from sale into delivery.

What we are looking for

  • A proven track record in outbound B2B business development or consultative service sales.

  • Experience progressing opportunities beyond an introductory meeting and contributing directly to a commercial decision.

  • Confidence selling high-value or complex services to senior stakeholders.

  • Strong discovery, qualification, relationship-building, follow-up and negotiation skills.

  • Comfort using a CRM to manage activity, pipeline and forecasts. HubSpot experience would be particularly useful.

  • Commercial awareness, including an understanding of pricing, margin and the difference between activity and genuine progress.

  • The ability to learn a technical service offering and explain it in clear, practical language.

  • A self-starting and persistent approach, combined with sound judgement and honest forecasting.

Experience that would be helpful

Experience in pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, medical devices, scientific services, laboratories, CROs, CDMOs or another regulated professional-services market would be valuable, but it is not essential. We are equally interested in strong service-sales professionals who can show that they learn quickly, ask intelligent questions and take ownership of a complex commercial process.

What you will get

  • A supportive and collaborative workplace where people share knowledge and work together.

  • A visible role with meaningful ownership of your pipeline, relationships and results.

  • A company that is keen to encourage development and help its people succeed.

  • The opportunity to build your knowledge of the pharmaceutical and life-sciences sectors while developing as an independent seller of complex services.

  • Uncapped commission and clear scope to increase your earnings through performance.

  • Private healthcare, life insurance, income protection and a company pension.

  • Remote working, with opportunities to meet clients and represent TDP at relevant industry events.

Your development

We want the successful person to become confident and increasingly independent in the role. You will receive support while you learn TDP's services and market, with the expectation that you will progressively take ownership of discovery, qualification, proposals, negotiation and closing.

We will encourage you to build your capability, contribute ideas and shape how TDP approaches business development as the company grows. Success in this role should create scope for greater responsibility, stronger earnings and continued career development.
